Body Love, Actually: making peace with your body

Updated: Jul 14

I get it; the idea of loving or even accepting your body can sound really hard.

But here's the good news: our bodies don't want to battle. They want to be our strongest ally, and they're always waiting for us to come home to ourselves.

Making peace with your body might take some repair. It might take some relearning how to build back a trusting relationship, but it's always an option for us.

To further illustrate this point, here's "Body Love, Actually:"*

The author in a pink coat smiles outside a door, holding a sign that says "Hi Body."

(Can also be viewed on YouTube.)

If you took a moment to check in with your body, what do you think it would want to say to you?

* Spoof of the film "Love, Actually:" not recommended as body liberatory media ;)
