What are you celebrating?

Happy December!
Capitalism encourages us to constantly strive, to want more and better. A gratitude practice, or a practice of noticing and celebrating what’s already here, can provide an important balance to a culture that says to always do more.
That's why I start coaching sessions with the same question:
“What’s something you’re celebrating?”
It’s too easy to keep focusing on the next hurdle, the next horizon, and not to pause and appreciate all the things that you’ve already figured out in your life.
And look at you. Amidst all the shit, you really have figured out a lot.
So as this year comes to a close and you start thinking about new years resolutions, maybe first take a pause to celebrate what’s already good. When it comes to body image (and also, you know, all of life), this kind of reflection has been shown to make a difference.
I'd love to know!
Comment or email me— what are you celebrating?
Some more prompts to get your wheels turning. Tell me about...
something delicious you ate
a moment when you treated your body with respect
a time when you felt yourself heading towards an old pattern and then managed to redirect
your new job, new hobby, new love, new friend, new project
your old job, old hobby, old love, old friend, old project that is still totally fulfilling
a political thing that happened that didn't suck
that cute outfit you wore to a party
Let’s end the year noticing what's already going well. I’ll compile your responses anonymously for my instagram (unless you want to be tagged, lmk).
Love,
Talia
